Sometimes you just need a moment; a pause from the humdrum of circumstance and normalcy, and to take things slow again. In March I spent a little time in the mountains with my little ladybel. I am lucky enough to have grandparents who own a lodge tucked between the rolling hillsides in NC, and every so often I take the opportunity to get away and rest.
Resting is not easy, (with a busy bee 10 month old) but also in a world of laptops and phones where everything is accessible in one touch. It took me several days to get used to the schedule of puttering around and taking deep breaths... (and also remember playing with little squirmbles 24/7) But finally rest came...
These images are the unedited snapshots of our restful days... that little nest was made from horse-hair, how resourceful of the birds! I can imagine them plucking hair by hair, gathering to make their little swirly bed.
The last image was my nature walk in the deep woods on the top of the mountain, pondering life, talking to God and breathing clean air. I sat and wrote in a journal for hours (something I haven't done in years). I had my own little therapy sessions with the trees.
