Behind the Scenes of a Styled Editorial

A Derby Wedding from Logan Cyrus on Vimeo.

Here's a look into the behind the scenes of shooting and styling an editorial. I'm the girl obviously with the camera and lots of "behind" the scenes angles, if you get what I mean. ;)

Southern Derby Wedding

photography by: Anna Naphtali // wedding design: favor me events // produced by Kellie Duff for Charlotte Wedding Magazine  // styling by: Laurel Benedum // hair & makeup by Bethany Campayno, Re Salon & Med Spa // location: Johnson Carriage House & Meadows // cakes & pastries: Got What it Cakes // vintage rentals: Old South Vintage Rentals //flowers: New Creations Flower Co. // invites & paper: Olive Paper // food: Plate Perfect Catering

It's Derby time this weekend! Years ago, I used to host Kentucky Derby events every year with Dean & Deluca and it was so much fun! I miss those days, making hot-browns and Derby pies! When Charlotte Wedding Magazine asked me to photograph their Kentucky Derby inspired wedding I was thrilled. Anne Markey of Favor Me Events, put this whole shoot together. She's incredible. Each vendor, designer, model etc... was a wonderful partner in this shoot. If you need local Charlotte Wedding & Party Vendors, this team is for you.

You can check out the twelve page spread on stands where all major magazines are sold locally, in the Spring Issue of Charlotte Weddings. You can also check it out online here: Southern Wedding.

Happy Derby! Let's go eat some pie to celebrate.

Festive Spring Flower Inspiration

Flower crowns & models by House of Ceremony. Fresh flower arrangements by Philosphy Flowers.
Seen modeling above is new friends House of Ceremony owner, McKinna Hahn, Camila Amortegui Brown, editor of Blu Magazine and Shannon Kidd.

Here's a little inspiration for the Kinfolk Flower Dinner coming up this Saturday. You only have a few more days to get tickets so get your seat before it closes.

New friend, Kelly Perry, of philosophy flowers will be joining us as well for the Kinfolk Dinner and I'm so excited I got to work with her recently and take a few snippets of her beautiful branch-y arrangements.

I think all these looks are great Spring inspiration for a wedding too...

On another note, I appreciate all the new friends contacting me to be a part of local Kinfolk events or to collaborate in other ways. It is such a joy to meet new creatives and work together. Please don't be afraid to introduce yourself, I'd love to know you and possibly work together in the future!
