Sometimes you just need a little inspiration to move! I love those little African dancers!
Eee Bee Etsy
Every time I'd go in my little girl's room after a nap I would say, "Hi Baby" in a cheerful tone. So now when my daughter is excited to see me she says, "Haabeee" that sounds like the word, "happyyy." It's so cute and uplifting to have a little sweetie mumbling "Happee" all over the place. because she says Hey Baby to everything. When I saw this little poster it reminded me of my happy and then I saw the Etsy seller is Eee Bee.
Ok, can I tell you one more thing? This might be annoying if you don't have kids, but she also says, "Hikeee" for "Hi Kitty" a game my mom has on her ipad, and now she calls her self, "Ibeee" for Isabel. All her phrases end in eeeee.
Isn't that cute? Ok, that's all, my cute little bee.

I have always loved ice cream cake since I was a kid. I remember getting little baskin robbins cakes and ice cream cone men with chocolate faces for my birthday. I still love ice cream cakes, but only really delicious ones. When I came across this recipe I thought... I want to eat that right now... here's a grown-up ice cream cake that I can't wait to try out!
I know if you follow my photography blog you've already seen my "Indian Dancer" but I just thought she's too pretty not to show you here too! Enjoy!
Images Collected: Georgia Peach Dress, Fresh Peaches, anthropologie bathing suit, bbq & slaw sandwhich by ming thompson. Watermelon Sweet Tea
I live in the South. I grew up with biscuits and sweet tea. and when I say biscuit, I mean the fluffy delicious Southern kind... not an English cookie ;) I'm pretty proud of being Southern, because for me some of the most special things about my childhood had Southern influence.
On my recent trip to Georgia, I was re-inspired by my down South roots, so I made a Georgia inspiration board. I'm kind of thinking Georgians have some of the best southerners there are. (bless your heart Paula Dean.) I have a feeling this has just begun my renewed love of the South and you're gonna hear more about it, and I just learned after 4.5 years that my husband loves my Southern accent, so there you go.
Enjoy!
I love this image. Maybe because I love Native Americans, maybe I love feathers... or maybe this picture speaks to my life right now. But I love it, and I can't find the photographer, but I thought I'd share my inspiration today.
Milan, Italy |
Dear Isabel,
This is how I knew your daddy was a hero.
We were newlyweds married only a week, misunderstanding the time and waiting at a midnight bus stop in Milan, Italy, which after dark seemed to turn into Gotham city. As naïve Americans, to our favor, we stumbled upon a bus stop under a bridge where we found an adorable old man with white hair and a powder blue suit. He stood there with his old fashioned, simple luggage. I imagined he just visited his grandchildren, it seemed he’d been traveling all day. The only other people looming around were two swarthy Italian men wearing black button down sweaters, puffing on thin cigarettes, quietly whispering to each other.
We waited forever and it seemed the two young Italians were annoyed. I joked to Josh that I felt like we were this little old man’s guardian angels because he seemed so old, cute and alone.
It didn’t seem our bus was coming so we began walking around to check the times around the other areas of the stop. (We didn’t know it was after bus hours with the time change) I felt like keeping an eye on the old man even from a distance, and before we turned around to discuss our travel options I blinked over and saw the sweet man being dragged under the bridge. The two men taunting him and choking him. I screamed, “Josh GO,” with adrenaline and instinct, not knowing really what I was saying but without blinking he threw his bag at me, I caught it and he ran under the overpass with lightning speed. I suddenly turned around to another sneaky man almost touching my bag who seemed as startled as I was that I caught him so close to me in a completely empty parking lot. But because I was SOOO upset that this was happening, I assumed all other people were good citizens ready to help, so I turned around and yelled in the dark haired man’s face, “HELP, HELP, GOOO, go, you have to go, help!!!” I think I even took his arms and shook him and said, “GO you have to help!” Until, to my surprise the man said to me thickly, “ NO. Yeeou go, go” as he made shooing motions with his hands.
It wasn’t until later that I realized part of the plan was probably to steal from my bag as well, but I think I scared the guy with my American, in your face screams for help.
The two criminals took off and we helped the old man stand up and dust off. We helped him settle down and got him safely on his way.
It was then that I knew I married a brave man, who became my midnight Italian hero.
And though life is not easy and full of heroic tales, if I know one thing about your daddy, is that he will always be a hero... to many… from the shores of Africa, to the corners of Italy and the Section 8 housing of Charlotte.
He will always be my and now your hero.
Happy Father's Day!
He will always be my and now your hero.
Happy Father's Day!
I know I said I'd blog while I'm with Once Wed & Jose Villa, but we literally didn't stop from morning until late night, no time for anything else! But I will say, I feel so enlightened, inspired, encouraged and excited. Being with them was like stepping into a magazine for a week. I'll tell you all about soon.
Until then, enjoy this little clip from one of our sessions and enjoy your weekend.
AND on Father's day, I'll have special giveaway for the Dads out there!
I love a little old fashion style- so I made a poster to celebrate it. Enjoy!

I love these looks from Obakki! Styleboard via Seen & Said. This might be my favorite casual look. It's so clean, airy and modern... makes me want to go to Greece. Maybe that's because I'm listening to island house music right now... :) Seriously LOVE this style.
I'm pretty sure sometime on my trip next week, I'm just gonna have to run by here for a minute... Anyone want to join on the ride? Seriously?
So I got his from my old photographer friend and assistant, Jess Keener and just had to repost. Everything about this dancing makes me happy. So I'm in search of a dance partner... anyone interested? :)
I haven't had someone make me a mixed CD since my early musician dating days. Those were the best! (the cds) So it was so nice to get a little music in the mail. Maybe I'll share the playlist if you're nice.
I had to block the address on the first pic, but you get the idea...
Hello everyone, have a virtual cupcake today! Because....
Introducing my BRAND NEW photography & wedding blog!
check it out!!!
Aren't these a cute, cheap project?
I usually like matte finish, but the glossy texture on some of these gives them a nice new sheen. And baby jars make the cutest little mini vases or containers!
I do have to note, these are not "safe" to use for any type of liquid consumption. They just look cool and won't damage flowers or decorative pieces.
Cute idea right? Especially on a budget! You could do this for wedding centerpieces, parties etc... I have spray painted wine bottles, vases, jars... you name it, I've probably painted it.
Another idea for a centerpiece would be to take tons of different sized items and paint them one color and or have a line of vases down a table... you get the idea.
If you didn't know by now, I kind of spray paint everything as my quick decor fix. But recently I dreamed up a new idea for my spray painting ways.
These recycled bottles have been re-styled to be used as centerpieces, vases or gifts. Today we are doing IZZE bottles, but don't forget to check out my similar jar project to see more colors, sizes and ideas.
This project is so simple.
1. Remove labels from bottles. ( You can soak them in hot water and dish soap for extra help)
2. Dry and clean
3. Pick your spray paint choices: Seen above is Satin Ivory.
4. Spray paint box carrier too!
You get the idea...
Some spray painting tips... Cover area with newspaper or drop cloth first. Wear a mask or be careful not to inhale fumes. Don't spray into the wind!!! Wait for your first layer to dry and stick the bottle on your finger to get a good coat around the bottom sides.
And the flowers seen above are Ranunculus. (one of my favorites!)
