John & Kate plus 8 - Uptown Wedding

Remember the darling Kate? (More from her bridal shoot)

Well... this is John and Kate plus 8... bridesmaids and groomsmen. (I am a sucker for puns)

John and Kate were married on the modern rooftop of the Mint Museum of Craft and Design in uptown Charlotte. What a cool rooftop! The heat surely didn't hold anyone back from partying!

Kate's theme was modern with a bit of earthy element. Of course because Kate works for Ikea there were the Swedish market's touches everywhere. She even had a lounge set up on the rooftop for guests to watch the ceremony... lounge furniture provided by Ikea via the girls at By Design. Pam Baily, the florist, (website coming soon) did an amazing job. There were trees on the tables with little modern wire birds nests and handmade, patterned bird cut outs. (that kate made). It was so adorable. And one of my favorite ideas, sticking to the "tree" theme, was the advice tree. All the guests pinned their marriage advice to a little tree- great idea! Kate is so artsy, she made the coolest little memory montage book I've ever seen. There's a picture down below. What a creative, fun rooftop wedding!

Agallia Men's Wedding Collection Part 2

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

I promised more Agallia Fashion so here it is! This model, Blake Edwards, is wearing one of Michelle Nannasey's custom made suits. Doesn't he look nice? Your man can have a suit like this! Give Michelle a call! Or if you want a good man, give Blake a call! ;)

Cheers to Summer!

Friday, June 19, 2009

Because it's hot as you know what out side, and I'm photographing the lovely Kate's wedding tomorrow in 97 degree heat, (Kate don't you worry girl, sometimes sweaty weddings are the best because everyone lets loose) I thought I'd do a little post to my favorite summertime baby picture I took last year. This is the adorable Sophie Dove. (one of the cutest names i've heard) I love her little leggies and stripey bikini bottoms. Don't you just want to get on a slip-in-slide somewhere! Do they even have those anymore? Let's find out and have a slip-in-slide party!

Also, you might notice some music chiming in today. Well I added some jingle to my site. These sounds happen to come from my wedding (originally the sound track of Amelie). My processional felt like a carnival movie dance, I still get a little emotional thinking about it.

Anyway, cheers summertime- you are officially in Carolina heat. And to make all the summertime brides feel better about their sweltering weddings and because my wedding music is playing, here's a few messy pics of sweaty people getting down at my wedding. (and yes I breakdanced (not sure if that's proper English) in my wedding dress!) pictures courtesy of the fabulous Wide-eyed Photography.

Engagement Session: Matt & Alexandria

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

I am uploading, as I write, my latest engagement photo session! Matt lives in Atlanta and Alexandria just finished her graduate degree at Chapel Hill. And now they're getting married! I'm a little partial to a Chapel Hill girl since my grandmother and mother-in-law played b-ball for their women's team! Matt and Alexandria were such a sweet couple. We did our shoot in downtown Belmont, where Matt and Alex were high school sweethearts.

Abi & Evan's Wedding

Saturday, June 13, 2009

Back to work! After all the traveling, I've gotten back to my laptop and back to work! I almost forgot to blog about Abi and Evan's lakeside wedding. Abi and Evan fell in love in Spain and decided to create a wedding reminiscent of their time there together! The wedding was so festive! Lights in the trees, greetings by an accordian player, fresh, bright open roses, Spanish food and really delicious cupcakes! Abi made her dress, (I am always excited to have a creative bride) and she sewed the leather applique, cut from her favorite pair of boots!
